Korean Air and Archer Aviation Inc. have signed an agreement to introduce Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft in South Korea, beginning with government operations and expanding into broader commercial use. Under the partnership, Korean Air plans to purchase up to 100 Midnight aircraft, marking a major step toward next-generation air mobility in the region.
The collaboration combines Archer’s cutting-edge eVTOL technology with Korean Air’s deep expertise in aviation operations and maintenance, positioning South Korea as a regional leader in advanced air mobility. Together, the companies aim to accelerate near-term deployment of sustainable air taxi services and establish the foundation for long-term, multi-sector adoption.
Archer’s Midnight—a piloted, four-passenger eVTOL—supports quick turnaround operations and aims to transform 60–90 minute car journeys into 10–20 minute low-noise, zero-emission flights. The aircraft has achieved key flight milestones, including 55-mile piloted flights at 10,000 feet, and was recently showcased at the California International Airshow to an audience of 50,000.
