L3Harris Technologies has achieved a major milestone by delivering 100,000 Military-Code (M-Code) GPS receivers to US and allied forces, reinforcing secure navigation capabilities in contested environments.

M-Code receivers provide jam-resistant and secure positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT), ensuring operational reliability even when satellite signals face disruption from jamming, spoofing, or cyber interference. These systems were delivered under the Modernized GPS User Equipment (MGUE) Increment 1 program, part of a long-term GPS modernization effort aimed at equipping warfighters with dependable navigation data in electromagnetically challenged conditions.

The receivers support a wide range of operations across air, land, and maritime domains, enabling systems such as precision-guided weapons, autonomous platforms, and joint command-and-control networks.

Allied adoption of M-Code technology is expanding through cooperation with the US. In 2021, the United States Space Force authorized several nations—including Canada, France, Germany, South Korea, and United Kingdom—to access MGUE Increment 1 systems for testing. Additional countries such as Australia, Italy, Netherlands, and Sweden have also expressed interest.

Parallel developments highlight the broader shift toward resilient navigation technologies. In 2022, BAE Systems delivered compact M-Code-capable GPS receivers to the German Army, marking Germany as the first international customer for such systems.

Beyond GPS modernization, NATO allies are upgrading command, control, and communications infrastructure incorporating secure PNT capabilities. In April 2025, the Dutch Ministry of Defence selected advanced L3Harris Falcon IV radios under a multi-billion-euro contract to strengthen interoperable tactical communications across its forces.
