Palantir, the influential data analytics and AI firm known for its strong connections to U.S. national security agencies, has secured a massive contract to manage software and data operations for the U.S. Army.

Announced on Thursday, the deal merges several existing agreements into one enterprise-wide contract that permits the Army to purchase Palantir’s technologies over the next ten years—potentially reaching a total value of $10 billion.

Founded in 2003 with backing from the CIA, Palantir was co-founded by Peter Thiel, a prominent conservative voice in Silicon Valley with links to the Trump administration, alongside CEO Alex Karp and others.

The company’s footprint spans sectors worldwide, serving clients that include U.S. government entities, financial institutions, hospitals, and the Israeli military.

In the first quarter alone, Palantir earned $373 million from U.S. government contracts—a 45% increase year-over-year. Earlier this year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) awarded the company a $30 million deal to create a new system for tracking deportations and visa overstays.
