US defense company SRC has been awarded a follow-on contract to deliver additional SR Hawk surveillance radars to the Polish Armed Forces.

The order builds on SRC’s ongoing partnership with Poland’s WB Group, which previously integrated SR Hawk systems into Polish BWR-1D/S reconnaissance fighting vehicles and AWR artillery reconnaissance platforms in 2021 and 2024.

Mounted on Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers, the radars feature a Fall-of-Shot capability that, when paired with WB Group’s TOPAZ automated fire-control system, enables Polish forces to quickly identify and strike targets while preserving multi-domain situational awareness.

With more than 500 units fielded globally, the SR Hawk radar can detect artillery impacts, personnel movements, ground vehicles, and maritime traffic, supporting a wide range of surveillance and border security missions.

Poland Advances Artillery Reconnaissance

Poland has steadily strengthened its artillery reconnaissance and battlefield awareness capabilities through recent procurement programs involving both domestic and foreign defense firms.

Alongside radar enhancements, Warsaw has expanded its unmanned reconnaissance assets by acquiring additional FlyEye unmanned aerial systems.

A framework agreement signed in September 2023 between the Polish Armament Agency and WB Group set the stage for the procurement of FlyEye systems. In October 2025, a fourth executive contract was concluded, covering further deliveries as well as logistics and training support.

Poland’s modernization drive also includes upgrades to its light reconnaissance vehicle fleet. In 2024, the country ordered 286 LOTR/Kleszcz armored reconnaissance vehicles from a consortium led by AMZ-Kutno, with deliveries scheduled between 2026 and 2035.

These vehicles will be equipped with advanced mast-mounted sensor systems, including Aselsan’s ARSUS 100, to enhance long-duration surveillance and target acquisition capabilities.
