The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration has expanded its participation in the CAVS program with an order for 94 more Patria 6×6 armored vehicles, raising the total Swedish fleet to 415 units. The 1.5-billion-SEK ($159.8 million) acquisition will be fulfilled from 2025 to 2030 and includes troop transport, command, and medical evacuation variants. Sweden’s growing commitment to the Patria platform is viewed as a major reinforcement of interoperability and industrial collaboration within the multinational CAVS initiative. The procurement follows a series of upgrades across the Swedish Armed Forces, including contracts for RIPSAW M3 RCVs and more Sisu GTP vehicles. Established in 2020, the CAVS program—led by Finland—brings together several European nations to jointly procure a standardized, modular 6×6 vehicle optimized for various mission profiles.
