The US Marine Corps has issued Teledyne FLIR Defense a $42.5-million contract to deliver more than 600 Rogue 1 loitering munitions for its Organic Precision Fires–Light (OPF-L) initiative.

The package includes ground control systems and training equipment, with initial fielding slated for this summer.

Teledyne has already completed a $12-million initial order for 127 Rogue 1 units to support evaluations and testing.

The OPF-L program aims to give rifle squads and platoons a man-portable, loitering precision-strike system capable of hitting beyond-line-of-sight targets, extending reach beyond direct-fire weapons while reducing exposure and collateral risk.

Teledyne, AeroVironment, and Anduril remain in competition for a potential $249-million, five-year production award.

AeroVironment is offering its upgraded Switchblade 300 Block 20, while Anduril is fielding the Bolt-M. Rogue 1 and Bolt-M were purpose-designed for OPF-L, whereas the Switchblade 300 Block 20 brings major enhancements, including better armor penetration, improved attack geometry, longer endurance and battery life, and an extended-range radio link.

Rogue 1’s vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) design supports modular, mission-tailored payloads, including explosively formed penetrators, forward-fragmenting warheads, and non-lethal training loads.

The system features a sophisticated fuzing mechanism that enables safe recovery and reusability when targets are not engaged, easing the burden on Marines while increasing mission adaptability.

It also integrates advanced EO sensors and FLIR Boson 640+ thermal imaging for all-weather, long-range ISR. A unique coupling of its sensor suite with the warhead inside the gimballed payload supports exceptionally precise targeting.
