Latvia has started supplying tracked Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (CVR-T) armored vehicles to Ukraine.
Latvian Defence Minister Andris Spruds confirmed that the deliveries form part of Riga’s ongoing military assistance program, providing Ukrainian forces with enhanced reconnaissance, mobility, and battalion-level operational capabilities.
The CVR-T, a British-designed family of armored vehicles, is used for scouting, patrol, and light combat operations. Latvia, which acquired these vehicles in previous years, is now reallocating a portion of its fleet to support Ukraine while simultaneously modernizing its own forces.
Latvian Support for Ukraine
Latvia has been a consistent contributor of military aid throughout the conflict. In November 2025, the country completed the delivery of 21 domestically built Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, part of a broader commitment of 42 units, each equipped with heavy machine guns, spare parts, and combat repair kits.
In addition to armored vehicles, Latvia has bolstered Ukraine’s unmanned capabilities. In March 2025, it began delivering the first 500 of 12,000 combat drones under a Latvia- and UK-led international drone coalition.
Latvia has also provided helicopters, howitzers, weapons, ammunition, anti-tank systems, radar equipment, and personal protective gear, coordinated through the Ramstein format Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
