The US Department of Defense has realigned two major agencies under its Office of Acquisition and Sustainment in an effort to simplify and accelerate foreign military sales processes.
The restructuring brings the Defense Security Cooperation Agency — which oversees defense equipment sales and related training for allied and partner nations — together with the Defense Technology Security Administration, responsible for managing risks associated with sensitive technology transfers.
Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth said the initiative is designed to improve the efficiency of US arms exports while sustaining the growth and competitiveness of the American defense industrial base.
