Heckler & Koch and Rheinmetall Nordic have signed a cooperation agreement to deliver integrated weapon systems for European defence and security forces.
The partnership spans small arms, accessories, and complementary technologies, combining the strengths of Heckler & Koch’s durable battle-proven weapons with Rheinmetall Nordic’s advanced mounts, fire-control solutions, and precision components. Together, the companies aim to accelerate system deliveries and foster next-generation capability development and market expansion.
The move aligns with a growing trend of defence-industrial collaboration among Nordic nations to field complete system packages.
For example, Finland’s Senop Oy has joined Norway, Denmark, and Sweden in a multinational procurement arrangement for modern optronics—streamlining supply, reducing acquisition costs, and harmonizing equipment ranges. Ammunition manufacturer Nammo AS has similarly partnered with the same countries to strengthen regional stockpiles and sustain production needs.
Meanwhile, Patria Oyj and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace continue progress on the Common Armored Vehicle System initiative, delivering modular 6×6 armored vehicles designed for shared manufacturing and maintenance responsibilities. The project exemplifies cross-border defence cooperation to boost capability and resilience.
