BAE Systems has been awarded a $73.8 million contract modification to deliver more than 1,200 radio-frequency countermeasure systems for U.S. and allied fighter aircraft.
The work will be carried out across several U.S. locations, including Nashua, New Hampshire; Elkton, Maryland; and multiple sites in California, with completion scheduled for February 2029. Funding for the effort is drawn from U.S. Navy and Air Force procurement budgets for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, supplemented by foreign military sales contributions.
Under the contract, the countermeasure systems are intended to enhance the electronic protection and survivability of both U.S. and partner nation fighter fleets.
The award continues BAE Systems’ broader involvement in strengthening U.S. military electronic warfare and radio-frequency defense capabilities. In 2023, the company was selected to produce upgraded electronic warfare suites for F-35 Block 4 aircraft as part of the AN/ASQ-239 system. During the same period, L3Harris Technologies supported the development of next-generation EW solutions for F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet platforms.
Further investments followed in 2024, when Raytheon received additional contracts to supply its Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band system for EA-18G Growler aircraft through 2028. That year, BAE Systems also secured a $95 million U.S. Navy contract to deliver electronic warfare pods for the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
