Boeing has been awarded a $2.73 billion contract by the US government to deliver post-production support for the Apache attack helicopter fleet, with the agreement extending through 2030.
The contract covers comprehensive sustainment activities, including maintenance, technical assistance, and lifecycle support, ensuring continued operational availability and mission readiness of Apache helicopters. Boeing’s responsibilities also include systems upgrades, spare parts provisioning, and technical troubleshooting to support US Army readiness requirements.
The Apache remains a core asset of the US Army’s combat aviation force, performing missions such as close air support, armed reconnaissance, and anti-armor operations across diverse operational environments.
The platform has undergone continuous modernization in recent years. In 2022, Boeing completed the AH-64E Guardian upgrade program, modernizing legacy Apache variants with advanced avionics, upgraded communications, and enhanced sensor systems to improve situational awareness on the battlefield.
In 2023, Boeing delivered more than a dozen AH-64E helicopters under the Apache Fleet Modernization initiative, introducing aircraft with improved digital architecture and integration of advanced weapons capabilities. Building on these efforts, the company received a contract in 2024 to provide enhanced mission equipment packages, including upgraded targeting and navigation systems, to support training and operational readiness across US Army units.
