Canada’s Department of Defence is planning to acquire tactical unmanned aerial systems to support and enhance the capabilities of its incoming F-35 fleet.
Unclassified documents reviewed by The Canadian Press reveal that Ottawa is initiating steps to select systems that meet the armed forces’ mission requirements.
The proposed UAS program could reach a value of C$16 billion ($11.6 billion) and involve the recruitment of hundreds of personnel. These systems aim to strengthen force projection and boost joint operations with allied nations.
