China has begun delivering Z-10ME attack helicopters to Pakistan, supporting Islamabad’s efforts to overhaul its outdated attack rotorcraft capabilities.
Although there has been no official confirmation from either nation, multiple open-source images and video clips have surfaced, clearly showing Z-10MEs with Pakistan Army insignia.
Pakistan has been actively searching for replacements for its decades-old AH-1F Cobras. A U.S. plan to supply AH-1Z Vipers in 2015 was halted amid rising political friction, stalling the program indefinitely.
In the aftermath, China offered its Z-10ME as an alternative solution—seizing the opportunity to strengthen defense ties in the absence of American cooperation.
After years of speculation, evidence now points to the helicopter acquisition moving into the implementation phase, with the Z-10ME entering operational deployment in Pakistan.
