DARPA has selected Australian firm Q-CTRL for contracts totaling $24.4 million to improve quantum sensing solutions for use in military vehicles.
Quantum navigation offers resilience in environments where GPS signals are jammed, spoofed, or denied.
Q-CTRL will focus on developing advanced quantum navigation sensors, drawing on past testing experience in airborne, maritime, and ground operations.
Featuring AI-enhanced software, the sensors are expected to operate effectively on moving platforms without conventional shielding.
Lockheed Martin will collaborate as a subcontractor, bringing its knowledge of GPS and quantum systems to the project.
