Denmark has signed a contract with Finnish defense company Patria for the delivery of 129 Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) 6×6 platforms. Deliveries are set to begin this year, enabling the training of Danish troops ahead of operational use starting in 2026.

The agreement comes after Denmark finalized its entry into the multinational CAVS program by signing the three core agreements—Research and Development, Framework, and Life Cycle Management—alongside partner countries Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany. Denmark had earlier joined the program in April through a Technical Arrangement.

To date, Patria has received nearly 1,000 CAVS vehicle orders from member nations and has delivered over 200. Denmark will deploy the vehicles for infantry and engineering units in roles such as command post, communications, ambulance, and electronic warfare.

Co-developed under the CAVS initiative, the vehicles are manufactured in Finland with the inclusion of Danish components. Launched in 2020, the program aims to provide a standardized 6×6 platform for the Finnish Defence Forces and allied nations.

Based on the Patria 6×6 design, the platform offers high survivability, mobility, and cost-efficiency, and is protected with STANAG Level 2 ballistic and mine protection, making it suitable for both troop transport and combat support missions.
