According to the Dutch defense ministry, the Netherlands will acquire €500 million ($577 million) worth of U.S. weapons for Ukraine—becoming the first NATO member to fully support a package through a newly introduced fast-track supply mechanism.

The initiative, known as the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), was unveiled last month by the U.S. President and NATO Secretary General.

Under the program, countries finance U.S. defense equipment already held in American stockpiles, enabling quicker shipments to Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia, which began in February 2022.
