The United States has approved the potential sale of up to 600 Stinger surface-to-air missiles and associated equipment to Morocco in a deal valued at $825 million. According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the proposed sale will help Morocco bolster its short-range air defense capabilities and modernize its armed forces. The State Department gave the green light, and the DSCA has officially notified Congress, which must still authorize the transaction. The agency noted that the move would enhance Morocco’s interoperability with the U.S. and allied forces.
