The NATO Support and Procurement Agency has awarded a contract to Iveco Defence Vehicles to carry out concept development and testing for robotic and autonomous systems (RAS).

As part of the three-year agreement, the Italian defense manufacturer will integrate uncrewed ground and aerial vehicles to showcase coordinated RAS operations in realistic combat environments.

According to Iveco, the platforms will be operated through a “common advanced interoperable command and control system,” which will run across designated network nodes.

End-users will actively contribute to both the conceptual design and the practical deployment of the technologies throughout the project.
