The US National Security Agency (NSA) has certified L3Harris Technologies’ latest Rover intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) radio terminals for secure operation by approved allied forces.

The certification applies to the Rover 6Sc transceiver and the Tactical Network Rover 2c handheld terminal, enabling up to 50 coalition partners authorized by the US Department of State to procure the systems through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.

This approval allows allied forces to securely share data and operate interoperably with US troops on NSA-encrypted networks—a capability that was previously unavailable to international customers, who were limited to exportable Rover “i” variants that could not interface with high-assurance US communications.

The Rover family of ISR terminals is designed to support air, land, and maritime missions, delivering real-time video and data for situational awareness, targeting, tracking, and battle damage assessment, as well as relay and convoy overwatch operations.

Equipped with smart frequency-switching technology, the systems maintain reliable connectivity in environments affected by interference, terrain masking, or signal obstruction.

The latest Rover variants also feature an expanded waveform library, enabling seamless connectivity with manned aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, and targeting pods currently in operational service.
