PDW has received a $20.9 million US Army contract to supply its C100 quadcopters and Multi-Mission Payloads, extending the platform’s role in the service’s Transformation in Contact (TiC) initiative.
The C100 is a lightweight, modular drone optimized for reconnaissance and flexible mission support. Its payload suite enables operations in GPS-denied areas, long-range communications, and electronic warfare/signal intelligence missions.
The latest systems will go to units in the 18th Airborne Corps and Army Special Operations Command, adding to earlier deliveries under TiC that supported seven PM UAS units. In December 2024, PDW delivered C100s under a $15 million TiC 2.0 contract, deploying them across Indo-Pacific, European, and Central Command theaters.
The Army continues to advance its small UAS modernization drive, phasing out legacy reconnaissance drones in favor of systems with greater autonomy and resilience. In 2024, the Army introduced Teal quadcopters as a replacement for older Skydio RQ-28As, while in 2025 it began receiving its first X10D unmanned aircraft, a larger platform designed for greater endurance and payload capacity.
