Poland and Anduril will jointly develop and manufacture autonomous air systems, including a localized Barracuda-500M cruise missile, following a signed MoU.
Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) and Anduril will coordinate development and production efforts, tapping PGZ’s domestic supplier base to industrialize the system for Polish forces.
The Barracuda-500M, deployable from fighters like Poland’s F-16s or from C-130 transports, carries around 45 kg (100 lb) of payload and can travel roughly 500 nautical miles (≈575 miles/926 km), making it effective against both land and maritime targets.
Part of the September 2024 Barracuda-M family, the missile is designed for low-cost mass production. Its modular architecture, reliance on off-the-shelf components, and minimal tooling approach aim to enable fast production lines and quick integration with modern avionics and sensors.
