Airbus Helicopters has signed an agreement with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) for the delivery of two H225 multi-role helicopters. These new platforms will strengthen the RTAF’s capacity for vital search and rescue (SAR) and emergency medical services (EMS), further supporting national security and humanitarian missions.
The acquisition adds to the RTAF’s existing H225M fleet, first introduced in 2015, which has since been deployed in combat search and rescue (CSAR), troop transport, and other essential operations. The RTAF also operates H135 training helicopters, highlighting its enduring cooperation with Airbus.
Completion and integration work for the new H225s will be carried out by Thai Aviation Industries (TAI), leveraging its established collaboration with Airbus Helicopters.
Globally, more than 360 H225 and H225M helicopters are in service, having logged nearly 980,000 flight hours with operators that include France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and Kuwait.
