Saab has unveiled Poland’s second DELFIN-class signals intelligence ship, the ORP Henryk Zygalski.

This vessel marks the conclusion of Poland’s two-ship DELFIN program, following the launch of the first ship, ORP Jerzy Różycki, in July 2025. Both ships are now entering the outfitting phase, where mission systems will be installed and integrated prior to sea trials and operational deployment.

Once fully equipped, the DELFIN-class ships will employ electronic intelligence systems to detect, identify, and analyze maritime electronic signals. Saab is the prime contractor for the program, with construction handled by Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. and design support provided by Polish firm MMC. Saab will also supply and integrate the mission suites, in collaboration with local defense industry partners.

Deliveries are scheduled for 2027 and 2028, following completion of integration and trials.

As part of its broader defense modernization, Poland has incorporated several Saab programs, including the November 2025 selection of Saab’s A26 submarines under the “Orka” initiative to replace its final Kilo-class submarine. Saab and WB Group also announced a strategic framework in September 2025 to explore joint opportunities in unmanned systems, naval platforms, and border protection technologies.
