Shield AI has delivered its first ViDAR (Visual Detection and Ranging) optical sensor systems to the US Marine Corps, enhancing drone-based operations with AI-driven capabilities. The ViDAR payload uses wide-area motion imagery to detect, track, and geolocate targets, supporting ISR and search-and-rescue operations—particularly in complex maritime conditions. Operating at altitudes up to 30,000 feet, it utilizes ultra-HD multi-spectral sensors to identify both moving and stationary objects.
