Sweden has become the first European customer for Textron Systems’ RIPSAW M3, acquiring the modular robotic ground vehicle to boost unmanned capabilities. The RIPSAW M3 features a rugged hybrid-electric powertrain, composite rubber tracks, and a modular architecture that allows rapid integration of payloads, autonomy kits, and control systems. Weighing 14,800 pounds (6,711 kilograms) with a payload capacity of 5,000 pounds (2,268 kilograms), it supplies 10 kilowatts of power to support weapons, sensors, and mission equipment. Its 63-square-foot deck area and 48-inch height offer payload flexibility, while its 206×80-inch frame enables multifunctional use. Designed for reconnaissance, support missions, and light combat roles, the unmanned vehicle reaches speeds above 30 miles (48 kilometers) per hour. Sweden’s acquisition follows the M3’s selection for the US Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle program in March, further validating the platform’s operational potential.
