Turkey has acquired a sixth prototype of the domestically developed TAI Kaan fighter jet to conduct a series of critical evaluations.

The new airframe will undergo rigorous testing, including structural stress assessments, avionics validation, high-speed taxi trials, and runway maneuver exercises.

These evaluations mark a key step in Turkey’s efforts to achieve full operational capability and prepare the Kaan for integration into the Turkish Air Force.

As reported by Ulusavunma, the production aircraft will be delivered in stages following the prototype phase, with each batch featuring progressively advanced capabilities.

In the more advanced stages—namely Block 30 and Block 40—the Kaan will be powered by an indigenous engine, and will undergo extensive ground and flight testing en route to flight certification.
