At a defense convention in Istanbul, Indonesia signed a contract to acquire two Istif-class frigates from Turkey. The $1-billion deal, involving PT PAL and TAIS, advances both countries’ defense cooperation and may redirect vessels originally built for the Turkish Navy to speed up Indonesian deployment.
