The US Army has awarded $15.5 million in contracts to three US companies to equip Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISVs) with autonomous capabilities.
As part of the Unmanned Systems Autonomy agreements, Forterra of Maryland, Overland AI of Washington, and California’s Scout AI will bring commercial autonomy solutions into the Army’s fleet.
The initiative calls for prototype demonstrations in May 2026, giving the service a chance to evaluate performance and reliability before shaping future plans for autonomous and unmanned systems.
Successful outcomes could extend the technology’s adoption to other types of ground vehicles.
