Army Requests Info on Robotic Vehicle to Aid Combat Brigades
The US Army is seeking industry input on the development of an Unmanned Ground Commercial Robotic Vehicle (UGCRV) that could provide logistical and operational support to Armored Brigade Combat Teams.
According to Breaking Defense, the platform must handle payloads above 2,200 pounds, traverse paved and off-road routes, and keep pace with soldiers on foot.
It must be able to function via remote operation while also performing autonomous missions like escorting troops, guarding zones, or navigating between locations.
The initiative, budgeted at $650,000 per unit, will be managed by the Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal in coordination with the National Advanced Mobility Consortium. Submissions are due within the month.
