The U.S. Army is scaling up its modular drone defense capabilities through a landmark $26 million counter-UAS contract awarded to Danish tech firm MyDefence. This milestone agreement aims to equip troops worldwide with wearable drone defense systems, reflecting a decisive response to the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems in contested airspace.

According to MyDefence, the deal highlights Washington’s commitment to enhancing soldier protection and deepening transatlantic defense cooperation.

Central to the contract is the Soldier-Kit, a compact 1.3-kilogram wearable solution that integrates the “Wingman” drone detector and “Pitbull” jammer, designed to attach discreetly to tactical gear.

Engineered for mobility and real-time threat response, the kit enables soldiers to detect, track, and disrupt hostile drones without sacrificing agility in dynamic environments.

Recent joint exercises in Germany, led by U.S. European Command, showcased the system’s effectiveness and adaptability in the field.
