Vietnam is close to finalizing a $700-million agreement with India to acquire BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles for integration into both land-based and air-launched platforms, including its Su-30 fighter jets. The purchase aims to boost Vietnam’s defense modernization efforts. The final deal is expected in the coming weeks, as per India’s Defence Research Wing. If concluded, Vietnam would become the second Asian nation after the Philippines to field the BrahMos system, which Manila procured in 2021 for $362 million.
