The United States announced Thursday that it has approved an $825 million sale of 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) air-launched missiles and related equipment to Ukraine.

According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the purchase will be financed through contributions from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, along with a U.S. loan guarantee.

DSCA said the sale will enhance Ukraine’s ability to counter current and future threats, enabling it to strengthen self-defense and regional security operations.

The agency added that the deal also aligns with U.S. foreign policy and national security interests, reinforcing the stability and economic progress of a European partner.

The State Department has approved the sale, and the DSCA has formally notified Congress, which must still authorize the transaction.
