Collins Aerospace has joined forces with the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force (RNLASF) to launch a new military avionics service center designed to strengthen operational readiness for European F-35 and CH-47F aircraft.

The center will deliver repair, maintenance, and supply chain services under a long-term, government-owned, contractor-operated model and is scheduled to reach initial depot capability in 2026.

Based at the RNLASF Air Support Command installation, the facility will combine Collins’ depot-level expertise with its global support network. It will complement current sustainment infrastructure, including the F-35 pilot readiness center in Soesterberg and Pratt & Whitney’s F135 engine depot, forming an end-to-end lifecycle support ecosystem for Dutch forces.

The initiative aims to provide faster avionics turnaround, improved aircraft availability, and enhanced resilience in complex and contested environments.

The Netherlands has accelerated several modernization programs in the last year to advance its avionics capabilities. Collins Aerospace has expanded its regional presence with advanced diagnostic and repair solutions for F-35 systems, aligning with the digital maintenance technologies deployed by RNLASF.

Meanwhile, Thales Nederland has upgraded NH90 helicopter avionics with new mission, navigation, and communication systems to increase NATO interoperability. Amsterdam has also joined multinational exercises focused on networked avionics integration, secure data sharing, sensor fusion, and electronic warfare readiness.
