The US-led Joint Multinational Training Group–Ukraine (JMTG-U) has successfully conducted a live-fire trial at Germany’s Grafenwoehr Training Area, using the Skydio X10 Delta drone (X10D) to deliver 117 live M67 fragmentation grenades.
The evaluation, carried out by the JMTG-U UAV Innovation Team, tested the US Army’s Audible Dropper system, a device aimed at enhancing the accuracy of drone-based grenade deployment for frontline soldiers.
Multiple refinements were introduced during the trial to strengthen reliability and ensure the system’s effectiveness under real combat conditions.
The Skydio-built X10D, part of the Pentagon’s Blue UAS approved drone list, reflects the US commitment to advancing secure drone technologies for defense.
The platform can accelerate to 45 mph (72 km/h) and be fielded in less than 40 seconds.
Equipped with high-resolution visual and radiometric thermal cameras, it provides operators with detailed intelligence to aid tactical decisions.
Its VT300-Z sensor suite integrates a telephoto camera for rapid target detection alongside a Teledyne FLIR Boson+ thermal module, enabling dependable thermal imaging across diverse environments.
