Pune-based Belrise Industries has formed a strategic partnership with Israel’s Plasan Sasa to jointly manufacture autonomous electric vehicle components in India, with a focus on supporting the Indian military’s future mobility requirements.

The collaboration centers on adapting Plasan’s All-Terrain Electric Mission Module (ATEMM) for Indian defense applications. ATEMM is a compact 2×2 electric unmanned ground vehicle designed to enhance payload capacity, power availability, survivability, and mobility across diverse terrain types.

Measuring approximately two meters in length, the platform can operate as a standalone vehicle or be configured as a trailer module, capable of generating up to 50 kilowatt-hours of power to support other vehicles, systems, or equipment in the field. When paired with additional modules, ATEMM can be scaled into 4×4 or 8×8 configurations, delivering fully electric propulsion equivalent to 800 horsepower and supporting payloads exceeding 2,000 kilograms.

The agreement builds on a partnership established between Belrise and Plasan in late December, aimed at advancing manufacturing and industrialization efforts within India. Under the arrangement, Plasan will contribute expertise in armored protection, survivability engineering, and advanced automotive defense technologies, with an emphasis on technology transfer and localized production aligned with India’s defense manufacturing initiatives.

Belrise brings to the collaboration its experience in producing chassis components, suspension systems, and automotive assemblies for two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and commercial platforms. Plasan, in turn, is internationally recognized for its vehicle protection solutions and integrated survivability systems deployed by armed forces worldwide.
