Diehl Defence has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Ripo Remonta Centrs to create a joint venture focused on supporting ground-based air defense systems in the Baltic region.
The collaboration will provide maintenance, repair, and technical services for platforms including the IRIS-T SLM system, which Latvia and Estonia are set to receive under a 2023 procurement agreement starting in 2026.
The initiative will establish a service hub in Latvia, enabling faster and more efficient support for regional and neighboring European users.
The agreement was discussed during a mid-March meeting between Latvian Defence Minister Andris Sprūds and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
