Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled the LAHAT ALPHA, the newest member of its Laser-Homing Anti-Tank (LAHAT) missile family, engineered for engagements exceeding 20 kilometers (12 miles).

The 2-meter (6.5-foot), 25-kilogram (55-pound) missile carries a large warhead capable of destroying armored vehicles, bunkers, coastal defenses, and fast-moving targets. Designed for stand-off missions, it can be launched from ground vehicles or helicopters, with laser designation provided by ground or aerial units.

IAI emphasized that the missile’s laser-homing guidance ensures consistent performance even in GPS-denied environments, and its user-friendly design allows operators to master it with less than one week of training.

The introduction of LAHAT ALPHA underscores a global trend toward precision-guided weapons that deliver tank-level firepower from safe, long-range positions. Comparable systems like Rafael’s Spike NLOS and Lockheed Martin’s Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) demonstrate growing interest in cost-effective, network-ready munitions suitable for diverse platforms.
