South Korean technology company Naver has established a dedicated defence AI task force to adapt its artificial intelligence models and cloud infrastructure for military applications. The initiative reflects the growing importance of sovereign AI in the defence sector, as governments increasingly prioritize domestically controlled technologies to protect sensitive information and reduce dependence on foreign providers. Led by Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won, the new task force will assess opportunities to integrate Naver’s AI and cloud capabilities into military and national security operations.
