An 11-member U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) team has successfully completed the validation of a new mobile Counter-small Unmanned Aerial System (C-sUAS) fly-away kit during testing at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. The week-long exercise certified the system’s ability to detect, track, and neutralize small drone threats—marking a key milestone in strengthening protection for U.S. military installations against fast-evolving aerial risks.
The field evaluation, conducted in coordination with the 5th Bomb Wing, saw the team engage over 100 drone targets in operationally realistic scenarios. The results confirmed the C-sUAS fly-away kit’s readiness for deployment and its capability to provide agile, scalable defense across diverse environments. The certification represents a significant step forward in USNORTHCOM’s broader mission to safeguard critical sites from emerging unmanned threats across the homeland.
