Patria has expressed its readiness to support Lithuania’s potential entry into the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program following Vilnius’ approval of plans to acquire more than 900 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles.

Established by Finland and Latvia in 2020, the CAVS initiative aims to create a NATO-standardized and cost-efficient armored vehicle capability based on the Patria 6×6 platform through joint procurement, collaborative development, and streamlined lifecycle support.

As part of its commitment, Patria is prepared to transfer manufacturing know-how and technical expertise to Lithuanian industrial partners, helping strengthen the country’s domestic defense sector. According to Patria’s Executive Vice President for Protected Mobility, Jussi Järvinen, the company has already been working closely with Lithuanian industry for over a year.

The CAVS program remains open to European and NATO members and currently includes Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Sweden, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Although not a formal participant, Ukraine also operates Patria 6×6 vehicles supplied by Latvia through the CAVS framework. The vehicle features a modular, open-architecture design that enables rapid reconfiguration while delivering enhanced mobility and protection.
