Thales and Systematic have established a strategic partnership to advance integrated air defense capabilities for the Danish Armed Forces.
The collaboration combines Systematic’s command-and-control software with Thales’ air defense technologies, including the SAMP/T NG missile defense system. The initiative is intended to support Denmark’s modernization of its air and surface-based air defense architecture.
Rather than developing a new weapon system, the partnership focuses on improving communication, coordination, and interoperability between different air defense assets. The companies aim to deliver capabilities that can integrate with Denmark’s existing defense infrastructure and support NATO operations.
The alliance will also assist the Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organisation in defense procurement while promoting greater domestic industrial participation and potential export opportunities for Denmark’s defense sector.
Denmark Expands Defense Partnerships
The Thales-Systematic partnership follows several recent agreements aimed at strengthening Denmark’s military capabilities and domestic defense industry.
In May, Australia’s DroneShield and Denmark’s Terma signed an agreement to develop interoperable counter-drone capabilities, establishing a framework for joint testing and potential future deployment.
Earlier, in March, Spain’s Navantia proposed a long-term partnership for Denmark’s next-generation naval programs, offering local industrial participation, training, and lifecycle support, with deliveries planned to begin in 2030.
The development also follows a December 2025 agreement between Heckler & Koch and Rheinmetall Nordic to jointly provide integrated small arms, fire-control systems, and weapon accessories for European military and law enforcement customers.
