Sikorsky, a business unit of Lockheed Martin, has partnered with Safran Helicopter Engines of France to explore new collaboration opportunities for current and next-generation vertical lift platforms. The agreement is intended to accelerate design and development cycles, reduce turnaround times, and improve the delivery of advanced aerospace technologies to military and commercial customers worldwide.

The partnership will also focus on advancing power and propulsion technologies for Sikorsky’s existing and future rotary-wing aircraft, as well as its unmanned aerial systems (UAS). According to the companies, the agreement builds on a collaboration spanning more than 40 years, during which Safran has delivered over 1,230 engines for Sikorsky’s S-76 medium utility helicopter family, supporting nearly 10 million flight hours.
