India is taking a significant step toward self-reliance in defense technology as Ananth Technologies Private Limited and EndureAir Systems Private Limited enter into a Technology Cooperation Agreement to co-develop advanced loitering munition systems. The agreement was signed on March 6, 2026, at Ananth Technologies’ Hyderabad facility, marking the start of a strategic partnership in autonomous strike systems.
The agreement, signed by Anurup Pavuluri and EndureAir’s CEO, underscores a joint commitment to delivering next-generation unmanned strike platforms for the Indian Armed Forces.
Development will be carried out under the IDDM category, ensuring that the systems are primarily designed, developed, and manufactured within India. This aligns with national efforts to build a robust domestic defense industry and reduce reliance on foreign technologies.
Loitering munitions are increasingly vital in modern combat, offering a blend of reconnaissance and strike capabilities. They can remain airborne over a battlefield, identify targets, and execute precision attacks at the optimal moment, making them highly effective in dynamic and high-threat environments.
The partnership combines Ananth Technologies’ strengths in avionics and complex aerospace systems with EndureAir’s expertise in UAV design, autonomy, and robotics. This integration is expected to result in a new range of loitering munition platforms tailored for diverse mission requirements, including varying operational ranges, endurance, and payload capacities.
The systems under development will emphasize advanced autonomy, real-time intelligence processing, and modular payload options, enabling adaptability across multiple mission profiles. Such capabilities are essential for modern warfare, where persistent surveillance and rapid precision engagement are critical.
In addition to serving domestic needs, the collaboration aims to explore export markets, leveraging growing international demand for cost-effective loitering munition systems and positioning India as a key player in the global unmanned defense sector.
