The US Army and Navy have joined efforts to create a portable, AI-powered translation system capable of delivering speech-to-speech interaction in areas with limited or no connectivity.
This initiative combines the expertise of the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory and the Office of Naval Research Global TechSolutions under a one-year agreement to develop a prototype called ULTRA-MAR.
