Turkish defense manufacturer Otokar has unveiled the first Cobra II infantry mobility vehicle produced in Romania during a defense and aerospace exhibition in Bucharest.
The rollout signals the beginning of local production of the 4×4 armored platform under the Romanian Army’s ongoing procurement program for 1,059 vehicles. As part of the initiative, 781 Cobra II systems will be assembled at Otokar’s facility in Mediaș following the delivery of an initial batch manufactured in Turkey.
At the exhibition, Otokar also showcased its Tulpar tracked infantry fighting vehicle equipped with the company’s indigenous Mizrak 30 mm turret system.
The company further presented a next-generation unmanned ground vehicle developed jointly with Romanian firm BlueSpace Technologies and Turkish defense partner Elektroland Defense.
