Aryavart Technologies Development Pvt. Ltd. (ATD), the Bhopal-based startup that previously delivered the indigenous ARYA-5001 tactical UAV to the Indian Air Force in late 2025, has introduced a new unmanned aerial platform called TEJAS STOL, developed for tactical battlefield missions and long-range operational roles.

The TEJAS STOL is a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with vehicle-launch capability and Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) functionality, enabling operations from compact and rugged deployment areas without relying on conventional runway infrastructure. The platform has been developed to address India’s growing military and border security requirements through indigenous unmanned technologies.

According to the company, the UAV combines indigenous engineering with advanced autonomous flight controls and resilient communication systems designed for operations in contested and electronically challenging environments. The platform is intended to support tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision mission requirements across modern battlefield conditions.

A key highlight of the TEJAS STOL is its combination of high-speed tactical performance and long-endurance capability, allowing extended surveillance coverage and sustained mission persistence over operational zones. The UAV is also designed to integrate advanced Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) payloads for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions during both day and night operations.

Aryavart Technologies stated that the system incorporates Electronic Warfare-resistant navigation and communication architecture intended to maintain mission reliability in environments affected by GPS spoofing, signal jamming, or electronic interference. Such capabilities are increasingly important as electronic warfare threats continue to expand across modern conflict environments.

The vehicle-launch design further enhances mobility and rapid deployment flexibility, allowing frontline units to operate the UAV directly from tactical vehicles or remote forward operating locations. This flexibility is considered particularly valuable for border monitoring, counter-insurgency missions, and surveillance operations in challenging terrain.

The unveiling of TEJAS STOL follows the company’s earlier development and delivery of the ARYA-5001 tactical UAV to the Indian Air Force for border surveillance and security applications. Aryavart Technologies has since emerged as one of several Indian private-sector startups contributing to the growth of the country’s indigenous drone ecosystem under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
