The unveiling of Schiebel’s S-101 and S-301 armed Camcopter drones marks a new milestone in unmanned aerial system development. The S-301 is a weaponized derivative of the S-300, which itself extended the Camcopter S-100 with greater payload options. Where the S-100 supported 50 kilograms, the S-300 and S-301 can carry up to 250 kilograms, enabling integration of various missiles and rockets. Schiebel Defence GmbH, the company’s new division, spearheaded development to answer the urgent need for armed, autonomous solutions. These platforms are optimized for resilience against electronic warfare, performance in multi-domain operations, and effectiveness against asymmetric threats. Hans Georg Schiebel emphasized the systems will enhance armed forces’ capabilities in complex modern environments.
