Fincantieri, the Italian shipbuilding and defense major, has presented DEEP, a next-generation underwater drone system created to protect critical seabed assets and strengthen maritime domain security.
Described as its first comprehensive underwater drone system, DEEP is designed for multi-mission use, supporting both defense and civil applications such as oceanic reconnaissance and environmental analysis.
The system features a sensor-equipped underwater monitoring network, a real-time control center, and an autonomous swarm of underwater vehicles operating in coordination.
