MBDA and Safran have officially launched THUNDART, a next-generation guided rocket system offering a range of 150 kilometers (93 miles) to replace France’s current LRU launchers.
Unveiled as a tested and practical capability rather than a prototype, THUNDART underscores France’s commitment to upgrading its long-range strike assets.
The program leverages MBDA’s expertise in high-volume missile manufacturing and Safran’s precision guidance technology, the latter refined through its AASM air-to-ground weapon systems.
