A new milestone in counter-drone defense has emerged as Nuburu’s subsidiary Lyocon completes early trials of a next-generation portable non-kinetic laser system designed to counter drones operating in contested airspace.

Built for rapid deployment, the lightweight weapon can be mounted directly on rifles, enabling soldiers to carry and operate it easily during field missions.

The system employs a multi-wavelength directed-energy architecture and functions across green, blue, and infrared laser bands, allowing it to interfere with and disable a variety of drone platforms.
